A story of togetherness, helpfulness and friendship
for children from 3 years +
Sloths are naturally animals that are slow. They simply are not given the right time to move quickly. That this trait is not always easy for a sloth when you have friends who want to play with one, that shows this funny, emotional story of Bethany Christou. Little sloth Sam's far too slow to ever get on time to partys. Sam likes to make others happy and he has many friends because he is so lovely. They love him because he is always there for his friends and they like to invite him to their partys. That all sounds really great, but his cozy, slow manner in combination with his helpfulness always leads to him coming too late for the celebrations. On his way, he regularly encounters the always arguing monkeys, who can only get along with his help. He meets the tree frog who wants to chat and usually the tortoise Hermine runs over his way, or rather she lies around in unfavorable positions and waits for someone to help her back on her feet.
Sure, Sam always helps, but coupled with his slowness, which is given to sloths, this is an unfavorable combination that always leads to Sam only arriving when the celebration is almost over. This makes him so sad that next time he decides to go directly to the party without stopping. Contrary to his habit, friendship and helpfulness, he does not chat with the frog, he does not help the monkey seam and the turtle, thereby stalking his friends, who can always rely on him. But even that is of no use. He's coming too late again. "Poor Sam!" some of my reading children shout and you can clearly see that they are compassionate with the little sloth. The sadness of the little one is not only very close to my reading children. His friends are also worried. Monkey Fips has an idea. You have to come up with a plan like Sam turns up in time for the party next time. But how are they supposed to do that? Everyone has an idea and every single idea excites the little readers, but is it right for Sam?
This amusing, turbulent story tells the story of how the little sloth fares, whether and with what trick the friends might manage that Samson be on time to the party. Children not only inspires by the story, but also by the wonderful colored illustrations. They show what is happening and provide additional information that can only be understood by the image. The dynamics, the tragedy and the feelings are simply best understood by the children through the visual experience. Bethany Christou manages to give each character its own character. The viewer experiences animal protagonists with wonderful facial expressions and gestures, who, despite all differences, are always there for each other and worry about the other. For each other, together this should not only the animals in this story practice, but also the readers, who can certainly take much of this happening for themselves.
A wonderful, expressive, colourfully illustrated world awaits the reader, in which helpfulness is very important. And so it is to be hoped that the children will take this message into their lives.
But it's not just the message of history that can be used to work with children.
Starting from picture books, you can immerse yourself wonderfully in areas that convey a lot of knowledge.
Here, for example.B. you can explore why sloths are so slow, what makes them and where they live, starting from the slow movement of the sloth.
